Recent Work

For the last two years my work has taken a minimilist direction.By this I mean that geometry has provided an initial framework, that the ingredients of a painting has been reduced to a just a few and that the finished work needs no elaborate system of prior knowledge or experience to understand and appreciate it. It is a well established principle with a strong practice to which I am eager to contribute.
I have used the repetition of straight lines and the sumptuous, seductive qualities of watercolour in a variety of combinations to produce what I hope are engaging and contemplative images. This format has endless possibilities, each small adjustment suggesting a myriad other paths.
A selection of these works can be seen at The Paragon Gallery, 4 Rotunda Terrace, Montpelier Street Cheltenham, GL50 1 SW. www.paragongallery.co.uk
